Museum Tower in Dallas....morning....

Shawn is relaxing by the pool at Dallas's lovely Museum Tower, where he lives, on a hot Saturday morning when Kenneth Hamilton, Jeremy Wendell's former henchman, walks out of the building and onto the pool area.  Looking around, Kenneth spots Shawn asleep on a lounge chair by the pool.  He walks over to him.  Standing over Shawn, Kenneth clears his throat, but the sound fails to wake him.  Kenneth clears his throat a second time, and again, Shawn continues to sleep.  "Shawn,"  Kenneth says.  Finally Shawn opens his eyes and sees Kenneth standing over him.

"What?  Kenneth?  What are you doing here?"  Shawn asks.  He sits up on his lounge chair.

Kenneth takes a seat beside him.  "I wanted to come by and let you know in person. There's been an emergency board meeting called for 3 o'clock this afternoon."

"An emergency board meeting?  On a Saturday?"

"That's right,"  Kenneth says.

"Who called the meeting?"  Shawn asks.

"No idea.  Your guess is as good as mine."

"Any idea what the meeting is about?"

"No.  Once again, your guess is as good as mine."

Shawn nods, nervous as he wonders why the Westar board would call an emergency meeting for a Saturday afternoon.  "Okay, thanks for letting me know in person."

"No problem. I'll see you at 3 this afternoon."

"Yeah,"  Shawn says.  "Hey, y'know, Kenneth, you really do look years younger when you're not wearing a suit and tie.  you should dress this way more often.  And maybe smile more.  I don't think I've ever seen you smile in all the time I've known you."

Kenneth nods, stands to his feet, and walks away, leaving Shawn to wonder why someone on the board has called an emergency meeting.

Southfork....

Christopher dives into the pool at Southfork that morning.  As he swims across the length of the pool, Lucia Trevino walks up from the cottage and comes onto the patio.  She watches Christopher as he swims to the end of the pool, turns and swims back to the other end.  When he finishes his lap, he looks up and sees Lucia.

"Well, good morning,"  Christopher says.

"Good morning, Christopher,"  Lucia says, looking at him with a smile.  "You look very relaxed."

"Yeah, a good morning swim always helps to relax me for the day ahead.  You know, Lucia, you're more than welcome to use the pool anytime you want.  You and the boys."

"Thank you.  I'm sure the boys would love to take you up on that."

"The offer's open, anytime."

Courtney comes out of the house.  When she walks onto the patio and sees Lucia talking to Christopher, an angry look comes over her face.

"Good morning, Courtney,"  Lucia says.

"Lucia,"  Courtney says, a rude tone to her voice.

Christopher climbs out of the pool and grabs a towel to dry himself.  Just then, a car drives up to Southfork and comes to a stop.  Christopher is annoyed when he sees Joseph Gioberti get out of the car and walk up to the patio.

"Morning, Courtney.  Christopher,"  Joseph says.

"Good morning, Joseph,"  Courtney says.

"Is Jacob ready?"

"He was getting his things packed.  I'll go let him know that you're here."

"Thanks,"  Joseph says as Courtney goes into the house.  He looks at Christopher for a moment, then walks over to him.

"You're picking Jacob up, AGAIN?"  Christopher asks.

"Yes, I am.  Jacob is spending the weekend with me."

"The whole weekend now?"

"Yeah, the whole weekend.  Do you have a problem with that, Christopher?"  Joseph asks.

"You're damned right, I have a problem with it,"  Christopher angrily replies.  "What the hell are you still doing in Dallas, anyway?  I thought you were just gonna visit Jacob for a couple days and then head back to California, but you're still here."

"Well, not that it's any of your business, Christopher, but I plan to be around for a while,"  says Joseph.  "And for the record, Jacob is MY son, NOT yours.  Last year, I agreed to keep my distance, but that was a mistake.  I plan to be a big part of my son's life from now on, and that's just something you're gonna have to learn to live with."

As Christopher is about to say something, Courtney and Jacob come out of the house, Jacob carrying a small suitcase.

"Well, you ready to go, pal?"  Joseph asks.

"All set,"  the boy replies.

"Hey, what's on your face?"  Joseph asks, noticing some white stuff spread on Jacob's face and neck.

"He got into a little poison ivy the other day when he and Michael were out on the ranch, so I put some ointment on it,"  replies Courtney.

"You okay, Jacob?"

"Yeah, it doesn't even itch as long as I have this icky stuff on it."

"After you go swimming, just remember to reapply the ointment to your face and neck,"  Courtney says.  "I put two tubes of it in your bag."

"I will,"  Jacob says with a nod.

"Jacob I don't recall you asking my permission to spend the weekend away from home,"  Christopher says.

"I don't need your permission to spend the weekend with my own father," Jacob says.  "You probably won't even notice I'm gone, anyway.  You're hardly ever here anymore.  You're always at HER house."  Jacob looks at Lucia, who is standing on the other side of the pool.  Jacob walks away and heads to Joseph's car.

Joseph gives Christopher an angry look, then turns and also heads to his car.  Courtney follows them.  An angry Christopher watches as Courtney sees her son off and tells him to have a good time this weekend, then Joseph and Jacob drive away.

Courtney walks back to the house and starts to go in, ignoring Christopher on the patio.

"So when were you gonna tell me that Jacob was spending the weekend with Gioberti?"  Christopher asks.

"It's a little hard to tell you anything when you're never here,"  Courtney says.  "And then when you are here, all we do is fight, so I just don't even bother anymore."  Courtney walks into the house.

Christopher shakes his head in frustration.  Watching all this play out from the sidelines is Lucia, who is smiling with satisfaction.

Holly Harwood's home....

Holly Harwood is in the living room of her mansion in Dallas's wealthy Preston Hollow neighborhood when her doorbell rings.  Holly's maid walks into the foyer and opens the front door to Samantha Chambers.

"Hello,"  Samantha says.  "Is Brandon Harwood here?"

"Yes, he is. Please, come in."

"Thank you,"  Samantha says, entering the house.

Holly comes into the foyer.  "Who is it, Jane?  Oh, Miss Chambers."

"Ms. Harwood, good morning,"  says Samantha.

"You're here to see my son?"  Holly asks.

"That's right, I am.  I heard that he was staying here for a while."

"Yes.  I believe Brandon is out on the patio.  It's through the dining room."

Samantha smiles.  "Thank you,"  she says.  She walks past Holly and down the hall to the dining room as Holly watches her, a disapproving look on her face.  Samantha goes through the Harwood dining room and starts to go onto the patio, but she pauses when she sees Brandon on the patio lifting weights.  She stops in the doorway and

stares at him for a few moments, captivated by him.  Finally, Brandon sees her and puts his weights down.

"Oh, well, Samantha,"  he says.  "How long have you been there?"

Samantha smiles at him.  "Long enough.  Really nice physique."

"Thanks.  I've been working on it."

"Not that you needed to,"  Samantha says.  "Anyway, I'm glad that I caught you.  How long are you gonna be staying here at your Mom's house, anyway?"

"At least another week or so,"  Brandon replies.  "A pipe burst in my kitchen and flooded most of the apartment, at least the living room and my bedroom."

"I'm sorry to hear that.  Well, as soon as you're back in your apartment, we've got some celebrating to do."

"Celebrating?"  Brandon asks.  "And what are we celebrating?"

"Getting Shawn Smith OUT of our lives, and out of Westar.  The Westar board has called a special meeting for this afternoon, and I'd bet my life that at the end of that meeting, Shawn will no longer be Westar's CEO."

Brandon smiles.  "I like the sound of that.  I always hated the idea of you being used to set that guy up."

"Neither did I.  But it's almost over now, and I'll never have to let that little worm touch me again."

Brandon's smile grows wider as he moves closer to Samantha and kisses her.  Meanwhile, Holly watches from the window, an angry and disapproving expression on her face.

Westar Oil....afternoon....

That afternoon, several members of the Westar board of directors have already arrived and are standing around the boardroom talking, when others make their way in.  Westar's senior and longest serving board member, Tom Griffith, is chatting with a couple more board members, when Justin and Pamela walk into the room.

"Well, I can think of about a million places I'd rather be than here this afternoon,"  Pamela says.

"Yeah, but, if everything goes the way it should this afternoon, Shawn Smith will be out of our lives for good," says Justin.

Seeing Justin and Pamela, Tom Griffith walks over to them.  "Pamela, Justin,"  he says.  "Good to see you both."

"It's good to see you, Tom,"  says Pamela.

Four more members of the board arrive, and a few seconds later, Shawn and Kenneth walk into the room.  Shawn looks around at his board members, then exchanges looks with Justin and Pamela, flashing them a cocky smile.

"Well, there's the subject of this little meetin',"  Justin says, looking at Shawn.

"Well, I think everyone is here, so, we should all take our seats,"  Tom Griffith says.  "Everyone, let's all take our seats so we can begin.  After all, it IS Saturday afternoon, and I know we'd all like to get out of here so we can enjoy the rest of our weekend."

"Not everyone will be enjoyin' their weekend,"  Justin quietly says to Pamela as the couple take their seats along with the other board members around the large table.

Shawn takes his seat at the head of the table while Tom Griffith is seated at the opposite end of the table.  "Thank you all for coming to this impromptu meeting of the Westar board of directors.  Here in this room are most of the major stockholders in Westar.  At any rate, we have enough board members here for a vote."

"Tom, I would very much like to know what this rapidly called weekend board meeting is all about," says Shawn.  "I was informed this morning that this meeting had been called, but that's all I was told.  I wasn't told who called the meeting, or why, and CEO and majority stockholder in Westar, I have a right to know what this is about."

"Alright, Shawn,"  Tom says.  "You're correct, you do have a right to know.  This meeting was called by me, and the subject of this meeting.......is you."

"Me?"  Shawn asks.

"That's right.  It's been brought to the board's attention that you have been purchasing a large tracts of land across the state, as well as entering into numerous deals requiring an initial investment of vast amounts of money."

"So?  Isn't that what a company like Westar is all about?  Purchasing oil rich land that can be used to drill and make a large profit?  And to make deals that will increase our profit margin?"

"Under ordinary circumstances, that would be true, Shawn,"  says Pamela.  "But you've been pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into these deals that will guarantee little to no profit."

"Pamela, you have no idea what you're even talking about,"  Shawn says.

"I know exactly what I'm talking about.  This little deal you struck to buy Jackson Petrol, for example......"

"Jackson Petrol is a very stable company with fields and assets worth more than hundred million.  Fields that are very rich in crude and will make Westar a fortune."

"Except for one thing,"  says Pamela.  "You didn't sign a contract to buy the entire company.  What you bought was a worthless subsidiary of Jackson Petrol."

"That's what happens when you don't read the fine print,"  Justin says.

"What the hell are you talking about?"  Shawn asks.  "That deal was rock solid.  I checked it out myself!"

"Was that before or AFTER you lured Bill Jackson away from sellin' his company to Ewing Oil?"  Justin asks.

"What's going on here?"  Shawn asks.  "Pamela, what the hell are you and that jerk you married up to?"

"What's happening, Shawn, is that this meeting was called for the board to take a vote to remove you as CEO of Westar,"  Pamela says.

"You can't do that.  I am the majority stockholder in this company."

"Well, you're right about that, Smith," says Justin.  "But while you ARE the largest single stockholder in Westar, when the rest of us combine our shares, you're out voted.  Or should I say.......voted out."

"You don't have enough votes to oust me from this company," Shawn says.

"Oh, I think we do, Shawn,"  Tom Griffith says.  "You see, we know what you did to your grandfather."

"The entire board know,"  Kenneth says.  "We know all about the pills, and how your grandfather literally begged for his life as he lay dying, his heart pills spilled all over the floor."

Shawn looks at him.  "You set me up?  What'd you do?  Have cameras set up in his apartment?"

"Oh, yes.  Not that I had to."  Kenneth stands to his feet and walks to the door.  "I had a witness to what you did you did to your grandfather."  Kenneth opens the door, and to Shawn's utter horror, in walks none other than his grandfather, Jeremy Wendell, very much alive!

"Hello, Shawn,"  Jeremy says.  "Did you really think you were going to get away with what you did to me?"

Shawn looks at Jeremy, too stunned to say anything.  He had been set up the entire time.  He looks at Justin and Pamela, who are smiling at his defeat.......they obviously had been in on the plot all along.

Westar Oil....afternoon....

Shawn has been left speechless upon learning that his grandfather, Jeremy Wendell, is alive and well.  "This whole thing was a set up?"  Shawn asks.  "You faked your own death in order to set me up?"

"Yes, that's right,"  Jeremy replies.  "You see, Shawn, I don't have a heart problem.  I never have.  Those pills you saw me taking.....the ones that spilled onto the floor the day of my 'death'......were just plain, ordinary sugar pills.  I was testing you, and you failed.  Miserably, I might add."

"And the entire board was in on this?"  Shawn asks.

"No, the rest of the board wasn't in on it."

"Except for Justin and I," Pamela says.

"And me, of course,"  says Kenneth.  "I set the whole thing up.  I knew that Mr. and Mrs. Ewing hated your guts, so I was sure they would help in securing your downfall."

"And he was right."  Justin says.

"I learned of all of this, and that Jeremy was still alive, just yesterday,"  Tom Griffith says.  "That's when I called this emergency board meeting.  The rest of the board wasn't informed of the plan until an hour ago, just to make certain that none of them could spill the beans to you before hand."

"All those deals I made for this company,"  Shawn says.  "Multi-million dollar deals that are gonna make Westar an even bigger super power in the oil industry than it already is......"

"Kenneth, would you please show in our other interested parties?"  Justin asks.

Kenneth smiles, then opens the door.  Shawn is once again stunned speechless when John Ross and Alex walk in.

"Well, hello, Shawn,"  John Ross says with a smile.  "What's the matter?  Cat got your tongue?  I've never known you to be at a loss for words before."

"Neither have I,"  says Alex.

Shawn looks at Jeremy.  "You......."  he pauses as he chokes back tears.  "You conspired with them?  You conspired with the EWINGS against me, your own grandson?"

"My own grandson left me for dead after I suffered a heart attack, remember?"  Jeremy asks.

"Samantha........she was in on this, too?"  Shawn asks.

"Oh, you better believe she was," John Ross replies with a smile.  "Samantha fed you all those bogus deals, and you fell for it like an idiot.  You sure you aren't related to old Cliff Barnes instead of Jeremy Wendell, here?  Because that sounds exactly like a trap he would've stepped right into.  It was just too easy to set you up, and you had no idea you were bein' played for a fool."

"I warned you not to mess with Ewing Oil or the Ewing family," Alex says.  "You should've listened."

"I think we should take a vote,"  Tom Griffith says.  "All those in favor of removing Shawn Smith as Chief Executive Officer of Westar Oil, signify by raising your right hand."

Everyone seated at the board of directors table raises their right hand.

Alex looks at Shawn and smiles.  "Well, Shawn, looks like you've just lost that empire you wanted so badly."

"You're all done in Dallas, Smith,"  Justin says.

"And, of course, since I'm still alive, my will is invalid........especially since it wasn't my real will to begin with," says Jeremy.

Shawn looks at him.  "What?"

"In order to test you, I had a fake will drawn up.  That was the one my attorney read.  It's invalid.  Oh, I really did have a new will drawn up, cutting you OUT.  Everything you inherited in that fake will.......now reverts back to me.  All the money, the penthouse, and all of your Westar stock is now mine again, and left to my new sole heir, the only member of my family who hasn't hurt me in some way.........my great-grandson, Hunter."

Pamela and Justin look at Jeremy in shock.

"And, now, while we're all here,"  Jeremy continues.  "I feel that the board should name a new CEO."

"Jeremy, you want us to vote on a new CEO now?"  A female board member asks.  "But we haven't even gathered a list of possible candidates."

"We don't need to,"  Jeremy says.  "I have someone in mind.  The only person I feel SHOULD run Westar right now.  And that person......is my great-grandson's mother, Pamela Barnes Ewing."

Pamela's and Justin's mouths both fall open in shock upon Jeremy's announcement.

"You can't be serious!"  Shawn angrily says.

"I'm very serious,"  replies Jeremy.  "Pamela is young, and she had the experience necessary to lead Westar into the future.  And, as custodian of Hunter's shares, she is now a major stockholder in this company."

Tom Griffith smiles.  "Jeremy, I have to agree,. I can't think of anyone I'd rather see at the head of Westar.  Pamela, will you accept the job if the board votes in your favor?"

Pamela looks at Justin.  "Could Justin and I have some time to talk this over, and to think about it?"

"We don't have to,"  says Justin.  "Sweetheart, if this is somethin' you want, then go for it.  I'll support whatever you decide."

Pamela looks at Tom.   "Alright, then.  I accept," she says with a smile.  She looks at Shawn.

"Well, then, should we put to a vote?"  Tom asks.

"I make a motion we put it to a vote,"  another man says.

"Fine,"  says Tom.  "All those in favor of Pamela Barnes Ewing assuming the position of Chief Executive Officer of Westar Oil, signify by raising your right hand."

Once again, the vote is unanimous, as everyone raises their hand.

"Well, the vote is unanimous,"  Tom says.  "Let me be the first to congratulate our new CEO......Pamela Barnes Ewing, only the second female Chief Executive Officer in Westar's long and illustrious history."

"Thank you,"  Pamela says.

Jeremy looks at his grandson.  "Well, that's it, Shawn.  You are no longer a major shareholder in this company, and you are no longer welcome here.  Y'know, I should have you arrested for attempted murder, but, in spite of everything, you ARE still my grandson.  My flesh and blood, so I won't.  At least for now. So get the hell out of this building before I change my mind and have you escorted out by the police and straight to a jail cell."

Shawn looks across the table at Pamela, and at Justin, then at Jeremy.  Slowly, he stands to his feet, grabs his jacket from the back of his chair, and walks to the door.  As he does, he pauses and looks at Alex.  "You're really enjoying this, aren't you?"

"Yeah, I'm enjoying this very much,"  Alex replies.  "You brought this all on yourself, pal."

"You're gonna pay for this,"  Shawn says.  "If it's the last thing I do, I'm gonna make all you STINKING Ewings pay!"

Upon hearing Shawn's threat, Justin quickly springs to his feet, grabs Shawn by the collar, and shoves him against the door.  "Get the hell out of here, you sorry ass little punk!  You blackmailed my wife, and you threaten my family?  I'm warning you......you come anywhere near anyone in my fam'ly again, and I'll kill you.  In fact, if I see you around Dallas again, I won't be responsible for what I'll do to you."

Shawn looks at him angrily, then he quickly leaves the boardroom.

"Well, hopefully that's the last we see of that little punk,"  John Ross says.

Alex lets out a deep sigh.  "Hard to believe that guy use to be my best friend.  He was the closest thing to a brother I had."

"Yeah, well, things change,"  John Ross says.

"Well, if there is no further business,"  Tom Griffith says.  "This meeting is adjourned."

As the meeting adjourns and everyone gets up from their seats, several board members walk up to Pamela to congratulate her.  Kenneth also walks up to her.  "Mrs. Ewing, congratulations,"  he says.

"Thank you, Kenneth."

Justin puts his arms around his wife.  "Now that THAT'S all over, I wanna take my beautiful wife home and enjoy the rest of our Saturday."

"I'd like that.  Because now that I've taken on this job, things are about to change.  A lot."

"We can handle it,"  Justin says as John Ross and Alex approach them.

"Well, that was an unexpected development, to say the least,"  John Ross remarks.

"You mean the board naming me as Westar's new CEO?"  Pamela asks.

"Yeah, I sure never thought that would happen."

"Congratulations, Pamela," Alex says, kissing her on the cheek.

"Thank you, Alex."

"Y'all excuse me for a minute,"  says John Ross.  He walks over to Jeremy, who is chatting with Tom Griffith.  "Wendell,"  John Ross says.  "I would say welcome back to the land of the livin', but, I'd be lyin'."

Jeremy smiles.  "Every bit as charming as your father was."

"If you two will excuse me,  I'd rather not get in the middle of this,"  Tom says, and walks away.

"John Ross, we worked together this one time to bring my grandson down to Earth and teach him a lesson,"  Jeremy says.  "But that in no way brings an end to the long feud between me and the Ewings.  Just want you to know that, despite my support of your sister-in-law becoming Westar's new CEO, I still intend to bring Ewing Oil, and the Ewing family, to their knees."

John Ross looks at him and smiles.  "Old man, you couldn't beat my father, and you couldn't beat my Uncle Bobby, and you sure as hell aint gonna get the best of me.  But any time you wanna try, just bring it on.  By the way, I know all about you gettin' Brad Barnes appointed as head of the ORC, and I'm gonna do somethin' about that."  John Ross smiles again, then walks away.

Cass Winthrop's apartment....later....

Cory is in his bedroom packing his bag that evening when Jasmine walks by her brother's open bedroom door and sees him.  She pauses and watches for a moment.  Cory's back is to the door, so he doesn't know his sister is there.

"What are you doing?  Running out on this fun family weekend?"  Jasmine asks after several seconds of watching her brother.

Startled, Cory turns around to see her.  "Jasmine.  How long have you been there?"

"Long enough.  So answer my question.  Are you leaving early in the morning instead of tomorrow afternoon?"

"I'm heading back to Austin tonight."

"Tonight?  Why?"  Jasmine asks.

"Mom hasn't said anything, but, I know she's disappointed and upset with me for testifying against her yesterday."

"I wanted to ask you about that.  Why, Cory?  Why did you testify against Mom?  And why did John Ross's attorney even call you to the stand in the first place?  Why you and not me?"

"I.......who knows?  They just sent me a letter in the mail telling me to come testify."

"Why didn't you mention it to Mom or Cass?"  Jasmine asks.

"I didn't wanna upset them,"

"So, you just showed up and surprised them when you took the witness stand and painted Mom as this middle aged gold digging brat who threw a tantrum and sued her brother because he was mean to her?"

"Look, can we just drop it?"  Cory asks.

"No, I don't wanna just drop it,"  Jasmine says.  "Cory, I saw the way you looked at John Ross when you were leaving that courtroom.  And I saw the way that he looked at you.  Now I know you better than anybody else, little brother, and you can't convince me for a second that John Ross and his lawyer just called you as a witness out of the blue.  Cory, what's going on?  And you might as well tell me, because I'm not leaving this room until you do."

Cory looks at his sister for a moment and sighs.  "Are Mom and Dad still out?"

"Yeah.  You know he took her out to dinner and dancing to cheer her up and take her mind off losing the case.  I swear, I don't see why those two don't just go ahead and get remarried.  So come on.  Talk to me.  We're all alone here."

"Jasmine, I........can I trust you?  I have to tell someone,"  Cory says.

"You trusted me with the truth about your sexuality, and getting kicked out of school.  You KNOW you can trust me with anything."

Cory takes a seat on the bed beside her.  "I had no choice but to testify for John Ross."

"What do you mean, you had no choice?"  Jasmine asks.

Cory takes a seat beside his sister on the bed.  "John Ross came to see me a few days ago in Austin."

"He came to see you? Why?"

Cory sighs.  "He blackmailed me.  He found out everything about me."

"What?"  Asks a stunned Jasmine.  "He knows about.......you and Daniel?"

Cory nods.  "Oh, yeah.  And about me losing my scholarship, getting kicked out of school, and that I've been lying to Mom and Dad for months.  This damned guy knows more about me that I know about myself."

"So, John Ross threatened to tell Mom and Cass if you didn't testify against Mom in court?"

"Yeah,"  Cory says in tears.

"Oh my God.  Damn him!  Well, our despicable uncle is NOT gonna get away with this."  Jasmine starts to stand.

"Jasmine, where are you going?"  Cory asks, grabbing his sister's arm.

"I'm going to confront John Ross about what he did to you."

"What?  No.  Oh, God, Jasmine, NO, you can't!"  Cory adamantly says.  "I already did what John Ross wanted me to do, so, it's over.  He'll leave me alone now."

"Cory, people like John Ross Ewing NEVER leave you alone.  Once they get information like this they can use against you, they own you.  They keep coming back, demanding you do their bidding in exchange for them keeping whatever secrets they're holding against you."

"Jasmine, please, just leave it along.  It's my problem, and if I have to, I'll handle it."

Jasmine looks at him.  "Well, you know I've got your back.  No matter what.  DAMN those Ewings!  I know Mom wanted to find her family for years, but now I wish she hadn't.  I wish we'd never moved here."

"Are you saying that because of what John Ross did to me?  Or did something happen between you and your boyfriend, Conner?"

"I don't wanna talk about Conner Ewing,"  Jasmine says, getting off the bed and walking over to Cory's dresser.  "He's no better than John Ross.  All of them.......all the Ewings are the same."

"Well, then, I guess that means us, too, since our Mom is a Ewing and technically we are, too,"  says Cory.

"Maybe it does," Jasmine says.  "And maybe it's time we start playing by their rules.  Playing as dirty as them.  Maybe it's time we start playing the game of revenge, Ewing style."

The Krebbs home....

Conner is sitting at his desk in his room that night, looking at his laptop screen, but his mind keeps thinking back to the night before and the kiss he shared with Ashley.  All day long, Conner had been unable to get that kiss off his mind.  He hears the doorbell ring downstairs, snapping him out of his memories.  But, in only a few seconds, his mind once again wanders back to the night before......and that kiss.  Conner tries to return to what he is working on at the computer.  A moment later, a knock comes at his bedroom door.

Conner turns in his chair and looks at the door.  "Yeah?"

Dylan walks into the room.  "Hey, umm, Ashley's here, and we're gonna go grab a bite to eat at that new pizza place in Braddock.  Why don't you call Jasmine and invite her over, and the four of us can all go together?"

"No, ummm,  I......Jasmine said she was gonna spend some time with her brother tonight."

"Oh, well, then you come with us then,"  Dylan says.  "With Ray and Donna over at Southfork, there's no sense in you staying here all by yourself."

"No, thanks,"  replies Conner.  "I'm kinda tired, so I just wanna curl up in bed early tonight with a good movie, or maybe a book."

"Okay, then, but the invitation is open if you change your mind.  I'm gonna go get a quick shower.  Why don't you go downstairs and keep Ashley company?"  Dylan leaves the room, leaving the door open.

After he's gone, Conner sighs deeply and shakes his head.  A moment later, he hears the bathroom door close down the hall, and hears the shower water turn on.  Conner walks back over to his desk and looks down at his computer screen.  He is unaware when Ashley comes to his bedroom door.  She looks at him for a few seconds before knocking.  Conner turns and looks at her.

"Hi,"  Ashley says.

"Hi,"  Conner says, nervously.  "Dylan's in the shower."

"I know, I wanted to see you,"  Ashley says.  "I think we should talk about what happened last night."

"There's nothing to talk about."

"Conner, we should talk about that kiss....."

"Ashley, that never should've happened, we need to just forget about it, and I think that you should probably go back downstairs.  I don't think it would be good for my brother to come out of the shower and see his girlfriend in my bedroom."

"Okay, fine,"  Ashley says.  "I'm sorry.  You're right.  We should forget it.  If Dylan or Jasmine ever found out, it would hurt them."

"Yes, it would."

Ashley looks at him, then starts to leave.

"Ashley,"  Conner says.

She stops and turns back to him.

"About last night........I'm sorry.  I never should've let that happen."

"I was just as much to blame as you.  I'd better go wait for Dylan.  I'll see you later."

"Sure,"  Conner says as she walks out of the room.  Conner goes to his bed and lays down on his back, staring up at the ceiling.

Southfork....

Meanwhile, over at Southfork, a large group of Ewings........consisting of Bobby, Ann, Lucas, Heather, Michael, John Ross, Krysina, Alex, Bridget, Sue Ellen, Catlin, Justin, Pamela, Afton, Lucy, Mitch, Clay, Michelle, Ray, and Donna.......is finishing up dinner, and adjourning from the dining room to the den for after dinner drinks and talk.  As the group moves from the dining room, through the foyer, and into the den, various conversations are going on.  Once in the den, everyone gathers in small groups to chat, as Bobby and Lucas fixes everyone drinks.  Bobby pours a martini for Ann, and then a club soda for Sue Ellen, and hands the drinks to the women.

"Thank you, Bobby,"  Sue Ellen says.

"You're welcome, Sue Ellen.  I'm very glad that you and Catlin could make it tonight."

"Oh, Bobby, believe me, we wouldn't have missed the Ewings celebrating getting rid of Shawn Smith once and for all,"  Sue Ellen says, then she looks over at Ann, who has a sad look on her face.  "Oh, Ann, I'm sorry.  That was very insensitive of me."

"Sue Ellen, it's fine,"  Ann says.  "I know how everybody feels about Shawn, and, even though he turned out not to be my brother's biological son, I thought of him as my nephew for a long time, and it just saddens me to see what kind of a man he turned into.  And how he's hurt people, includin' members of my family.  But I think he got what he deserved today."

"I couldn't agree more with that,"  Bobby says.  "I only wish I'd been there.  From the way John Ross and Alex described it, it sounds exactly like what we did to ol' Jeremy Wendell when we had him arrested for startin' that range war here at Southfork back in '88."

"It's hard to believe that THIS time, Jeremy Wendell was actually on the side of the Ewings,"  says Sue Ellen.

"Never thought I'd see the day," says Bobby.

"I must say, I can understand why Courtney isn't here, since Shawn is her brother, but I thought Christopher would put in an appearance,"  Sue Ellen says.

Bobby and Ann exchange worried looks, which Sue Ellen immediately notices.

"I get the distinct feeling that something's wrong,"  Sue Ellen says.

"Christopher and Courtney are just goin' through a little rough patch right now,"  says Bobby.

"But I'm sure they'll work it out," Ann says.

Meanwhile, Justin and Pamela are chatting with Clay, Alex, Bridget and Michelle about the Westar board meeting.  "Man, I sure wish I'd been there to see that little snake's face when he got ousted as CEO of Westar,"  Clay says.  "Especially when the board named Pamela of all people the new CEO."

"It was priceless, that's for sure,"  Justin says.

Afton walks up to them.  "Excuse me, I hate to interrupt, but could I borrow my daughter for a moment?"

"Sure, Mom,"  Pamela says.  She and Afton walk across the foyer and into the dining room, away from the crowd.  "Mom, is anything wrong?"  Pamela asks.

"No, darling, I just wanted to congratulate you again,"  Afton says.  "I think I'm prouder of you right now than I've ever been.  And your father would be so proud of you, too.  Imagine........my daughter, Westar's second female Chief Executive Officer in a long line of men who've held that position."

"Thanks, Mom.  I have to admit, it was unexpected."

"Sweetheart, I have to ask.  What about your pregnancy?"

"Well I'm not very far along yet, and I plan to work for as long as I can, and then, I'll have someone temporarily step in for me while I'm on maternity leave."

"And what about Justin?"  Afton asks.  "How does he feel about you working at Westar while you're pregnant?"

"Mom, I, ummm, I haven't told him yet about the pregnancy."

Afton's mouth falls open in shock.  "What?  Pammy, you haven't told your own husband that you're pregnant yet?  Sweetheart, why not?  What are you thinking?  Why haven't you told Justin in all these weeks?"

"I just haven't found the right time,"  Pamela says.  "Mom, don't forget........not only do I have to tell Justin about the pregnancy, but I also have to break the news to him about that our child might be infected with Neurofibromatosis."

As the two women are talking in the dining room, John Ross comes down the stairs.  Hearing Afton and Pamela talking, he stops near the bottom of the stairs and listens.

"Pammy, you're going to start showing VERY soon,"  Afton says.  "You're going to have to tell Justin you're pregnant."

"I know,"  says Pamela.  "I'm going to tell him tonight. I know that I have to."

"Good,"  Afton says, putting her arms around her daughter.

Standing on the stairs, John Ross smiles upon hearing this juicy bit of news.  Hearing the women coming out of the dining room, John Ross quickly rushes back up the stairs.

Back in the den, Bobby and Ann are talking with Ray and Donna, who have just shared some good news with them.  "Ray, Donna, we're so happy for you,"  Ann says, hugging Donna.

"Thank you, thank you,"  Donna says.

"I can imagine that Margaret and Matt must be on cloud nine, expecting another baby,"  says Bobby.

"Oh, they are,"  Ray says.  "I don't think our daughter has stopped smilin' since she found out she was pregnant."

"Yes, and we are driving down to Austin to visit Matt and Margaret tomorrow for a couple of days,"  says Donna.

"Well, what are you hopin' for this time?"  Ann asks.  "Another grandson, or a granddaughter?"

Donna smiles.  "Well, personally, I am rooting for a beautiful little granddaughter that I can dress up in pretty outfits on Easter and take shopping."

"How about you, Ray?"  Asks Bobby.

Ray laughs.  "Well, we already have a handsome little grandson in Ethan, so, I wouldn't mind havin' a beautiful little granddaughter this time."

"Hey, would you two mind if I announced to the family that you two are gonna be grandparents again in a few months?"  Bobby asks.  "I wanna make a toast to all this family has to celebrate today, and this is one of the biggest."

"Be our guest,"  Donna replies as Pamela and Afton return to the room, followed closely by John Ross.

"Alright, thanks,"  Bobby says.  He walks over to the bar.  "Everyone, may I have your attention, please?"  He says, loudly, but several people continue chatting.  "HEY, EVERYONE, YOUR ATTENTION, PLEASE, FOR JUST A MINUTE,"  he repeats.  Everyone's attention falls on Bobby.  "Thank you.  I would like to say how happy I am that you all came out to Southfork tonight to help us celebrate as a family all we have to celebrate.  I'd like to congratulate Pamela for her new job, for becoming the very first female CEO in Westar's history.  And, here's to, hopefully, an end to the long feud between Westar and Ewing Oil.  I know our two companies will likely never be close friends, but with a Ewing running Westar, at least maybe the companies won't be trying to destroy one another anymore.  And we also have the news of a new, upcoming birth in this family to celebrate."

"Now, Bobby, don't tell me you and Ann are expecting!"  Lucy jokes.

"No, we're not, Lucy.  Ray and Donna are going to become grandparents again in a few short months.  Margaret and Matt are expecting their second child."

The room erupts into murmurings of happiness.  "Congratulations, Ray, Donna,"  says Catlin.

"Thank you,"  says a smiling Donna.

"Well, as long as we're in the process of congratulating members of this family on pregnancy,"  John Ross says.  "I'd like to be the first to congratulate my little brother, Justin, and his bride Pamela on THEIR upcoming blessed event."

Pamela looks at John Ross, both angry and shocked that he not only knew about the pregnancy but that he had revealed it here, tonight.

Justin looks at his wife in shock.

"Pamela, congratulations!"  Krystina says.

"Wait, WHAT?"  Justin asks, looking at his wife.  "You're pregnant?"

Pamela turns to him.  "Yes,"  she replies, realizing she can no longer keep her secret.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"Let's go talk in private,"  Pamela says.  "Excuse us."

"Yes, of course,"  Bobby says as the two leave the room.

Justin and Pamela walk into the living room.  "Pamela, my God, you're......you're really PREGNANT?"

Pamela looks at him and smiles.  "Yes, I am."

"Oh my......Pamela.  I can't believe it.  I'm gonna.......I'm gonna be a father?"

"Yes, you are."

"When did you find out?  Today?  And why didn't you say anything about it before you acceted that job at Westar?"

"Sweetheart, everything is alright.  I've known for several weeks now."

"Several weeks?"  Justin asks. "Pamela, you've known for WEEKS?  Why didn't you tell me?"

"Justin, I wanna tell you everything,"  says Pamela.  "But not here.  Let's go home, and I'll explain everything."

Justin nods in agreement.

A park near downtown Dallas....

Shawn is sitting on a bench in Klyde Warren Park, having fallen asleep there earlier after finishing off a bottle of vodka. Several people pass by and look at him, including a couple of young women who appear to think Shawn is a bum.  After they leave, two young boys of about 9 or 10 walk up and look at Shawn.  The boys begin laughing, the sound of which causes Shawn to wake up.  He looks at the boys just as a woman, obviously their mother, walks up, grabs the boys, and takes them away.  Shawn looks around, unsure of where he is.  He notices the flask he holds in his hand.  Opening the flask, he takes a sip of the vodka, then he closes his eyes, his

head swimming from all the alcohol he's consumed.  His head is also swimming from the day he's had.......a day that has seen him lose everything that mattered in his life.  After another minute or so of sitting on the park bench he decides to move on.  He finishes off the last of the vodka in his flask, then he struggles to stand to his feet.  He takes a few steps, staggering as he goes.  Opening the flask again, he attempts to take another sip, only to find the flask empty.  He tosses it into the bushes, and staggers his way down a sidewalk.

An apartment in Dallas....a little while later....

Shawn's now former secretary, Kayla, is pouring herself a glass of milk, and goes into her living room, where she sits down on her sofa with the milk and a bag of Chips Ahoy cookies.  Kayle grabs the remote control and switches on her television, turning to a classic movie channel just as the old Joan Crawford film, Mildred Pierce, is coming on.  As she settles back on the sofa to watch the classic film, her doorbell rings.  Kayla sighs in frustration.  The doorbell rings a second time.  She mutes her TV, then gets up and goes to the door as the person on the other side begins banging on the door.  Kayla opens the door to find a drunken Shawn.

"You sure took long enough to open the damned door,"  he says, his speech slurred.

"Shawn.  I wasn't expecting you tonight.  You told me you had plans."

"Yeah, well, plans got cancelled,"  he says, walking, or rather staggering into the apartment.

"You've been drinking,"  Kayla says.

"No......kidding."

"Shawn, what's wrong?  Did something happen?"  Kayla asks.

"Did something happen?  Oh, yeah, I'll say something happened.  My grandfather happened."

"Shawn, what are you talking about?"

"What do you THINK I'm talking about, Kayla?  My grandfather, the late, but not so great Jeremy Wendell.  He's alive, and very well."

"Shawn, that's impossible.  Your grandfather died of a heart attack weeks ago."

"Nope, nope.  He faked his death, and do you know why he faked his death?"  Shawn asks.  "To trap ME.  His own grandson. He set me up.  You know that board meeting they called for this afternoon?  Well, guess what happened.  They voted me OUT."

"What?  They voted you out?"  Kayla asks.

"Mmm-hmmm.  Out.  I'm not the CEO of Westar any- more.  It's all over.  They put that bitch, Pamela Ewing in MY job."  An angry look comes over Shawn's face.  "They all stabbed me in the back, and they took everything.  Even my grandfather's will was a fake.  He didn't really leave me everything.  He left it all to that bitch Pamela and that ugly little brat of hers, Hunter."

"Shawn, if this is true, I'm so sorry."

"If it's true?  You think......I would lie about something like this?"  Shawn asks, his speech becoming more slurred with each sentence.  "Kayla, I need you.....tonight.  I don't......have anybody else.  They all abandoned me.  All. I don't have......"

"Shhhh, it's okay,"  Kayla says, putting her arms around Shawn and embracing him.  She gently strokes his hair as she holds him, feeling sorry for him, and for the first time seeing Shawn as a vulnerable, wounded soul.

Justin and Pamela's apartment....

"And when I found out I was pregnant right after Brad told me about his and Amanda's baby dying of Neurofibromatosis, I didn't know how to tell you,"  Pamela says, confessing everything to Justin.  "I know how much you want a child of our own......."

"So what you're tellin' me is that, our baby could die within a year after it's born?"  Justin asks, pacing around the room.

"Yes,"  Pamela replies in tears.

"Oh my God.  But, there's a chance, right?   A chance the baby could be healthy?  I mean, there's nothin' wrong with Hunter or Randall."

"Yes, there's a chance,"  Pamela says.  "With this disease, it seems to strike randomly.  My grandparents had three biological children together.  My father, and there was another boy, and a girl.  The other boy and girl died, but my father survived.  I survived, and so did Brad, and Emma.  And so far, my two boys and Emma's little boy.  But for some reason, the disease we thought was dormant, came back and it claimed Brad's baby.  My doctor said that there's no way to know until symptoms show up."

"So, we have this baby, and then we may have to watch it die?  And there's not a damned thing we can do about it?"  Justin asks.

"Yes.  Justin, I'm so sorry."

"And what about your new job?"  Justin asks.  "Pamela, how could you even take that job at Westar, knowin' you were pregnant?"

"Justin, my job has nothing to do with this pregnancy."

"But if this is gonna be a problem pregnancy....."

"It's not,"  Pamela says, standing and walking over to him.  "Justin, this is not a problem pregnancy.  All the tests indicate that I'm healthy and so is the fetus.  Whether I take that job or just stay home, or stay in bed for the rest of this pregnancy isn't going to determine whether or not this child with contract Neurofibromatosis in the future."

"Have you told the Westar board?"  Justin asks.

"No.  I plan to tomorrow."

Justin takes a seat on the bed.  "Dear God, Pamela.  I'm so scared.  I just found out about this baby, and.......I know John Ross only did it to be his usual self, but, I'm grateful that he told me.  I love this child already, and, the thought of losin' it to this damned disease......."

"I know,"  Pamela says, taking a seat beside him.  "Justin, I know."

Justin looks at her and they begin to kiss.

Southfork....the next morning....

Alex is relaxing in the pool at Southfork the next morning, a Sunday.  He is beginning to doze off when Bridget drives up to Southfork.  Bridget gets out of her car and grabs her large beach bag from the back seat.  Carrying the bag, she walks onto the patio and heads for the house when she sees her boyfriend in the pool relaxing on a float.  She goes to the pool and looks at Alex, who appears to be asleep with a smile on his face.  Bridget smiles at the sight of him, then she clears her throat.  When Alex fails to wake up, she clears her throat again.  "Now what in the world could my handsome boyfriend be dreaming about to put a smile like that on his face?"  She asks.

"I'm fantasizing about my gorgeous and sexy girlfriend in a bikini,"  Alex replies.

"You were awake all the time, weren't you?"  Bridget asks.

"Oh, yeah.  Just relaxing.  Feels great."

"Relaxing and fantasizing about me in a bikini?"

"That's right,"  Alex says with a smile.

"Well, fantasize, no more,"  Bridget says.  She unties the strap on her sun dress and slips it off, revealing that underneath she is dressed in her bikini.

"Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about,"  says Alex.

Bridget slips on a shirt over her bikini.

"Hey, why'd you cover all that sexiness?"  Alex asks.

"Because you know that my skin is fair that, even WITH sunscreen, my shoulders still get burned."

"Bummer."

"Y'know, I think you look WAY too comfortable right now."

Alex looks up at her.  "You wouldn't dare."

"Oh yes, I would," Bridget says with a sly smile.  She quickly jumps into the pool next to Alex, immediately causing him to fall off of his float and into the water.

"UGH!  That was dirty!"  Alex says.

"Yes, it was, but you'll be okay, my sweetheart,"  Bridget says.

"Why do I continue to put up with you?"  Alex asks.

"Because you love me."

"More than you could possibly know,"  Alex says, then kisses her.

"Hey, where is the rest of the family this morning?" Bridget asks.

"My Dad and Krystina are still in bed.  Uncle Bobby and Ann went into town to have breakfast with some friends, and I have no idea where everyone else is.  But I'm not complaining.  I love it when I get to have the pool to myself like this, especially when you're here with me."

"Did I get lucky in my choice of a boyfriend, or what?"

"Yeah, you did,"  Alex says, kissing her again.  After a moment, he pulls out of the kiss and looks at her.  "God, I can't believe how great everything is going these days.  I'm taking on more responsibility at Ewing Oil, and with the semester at school ending this week, I'll be able to work at the company full time over the summer.  We finally got Shawn Smith out of our lives for good, and the best part.......I have the most beautiful, amazing girlfriend any guy could ever ask for.  The girl that........."  Alex pauses for a second and looks at her.  "The girl that I wanna marry."

Alex's words catch Bridget off guard.  "Marry?  Did you say MARRY?"

"Yes, I did say marry.  Bridget, we've been seriously dating for over two and a half years now.  I love you, and I couldn't be more sure than I am right now that I wanna marry you and spend the rest of my life with you."

"Alex, don't you think we're a little young?"  Bridget asks, walking away from him in the pool.

"Young?"  Alex asks.  "Bridget, we're both gonna be 21 this fall.  We're NOT that young.  I mean, if we were poor and struggling, and I didn't have a good job, then I'd say yeah, we're too young.  But that's not the case.  We both come from wealthy families, and I have my future all set at Ewing Oil, so we wouldn't have to start our lives struggling financially like a lot of couples our age."

Bridget looks at him.  "I know that."

Alex swims over to her.  "Then, is there another reason you don't wanna marry me?  And you can't say it's because we don't know each other that well."

"No, it's not that."

"Then what, sweetheart.  Please, tell me."

"I guess, I'm scared."

"Scared?  Of what?"  Alex asks.

Bridget looks at him.  "Alex, I love you SO much.  And things have been going so great for us.  I'm just afraid that if we get married, that'll change."

"It won't."

"How can you know that?"  Bridget asks.  "It always does seem to change.  People are so happy, and so in love until they get married, and then it all changes.  People separate, they get divorced, or they end up hating each other."

"Come on, that doesn't always happen,"  says Alex.  "Look at my father and Krystina.  They're very happy."

"Yeah, but they've been separated.  And Krystina is what?  John Ross's THIRD wife?  My Mom and Dad....... it took them YEARS to finally get to a poing where they were happy together, and then my Mom died."

"Bridget, there are never any guarantees in life.  NONE.  All you can do is try your best at life, and hope it all works out.  I can promise you one thing, though."

"And what's that?"

"That if you marry me, I'll spend the rest of my life making you happy.  Or at least trying my best to.  And look, we don't have to get married right away.  We can get engaged for a while first."

Bridget looks at him and smiles.  She gently touches his face.  "Until I met you, I never thought it possible to love another human being this much.  Alex.......I want you to make love to me."

"HERE?  In the pool?"  Alex playfully asks.

"No, silly.  Let's go up to your room."

"I'm not so sure about that.  Michael's upstairs.  But I do know somewhere we can go."

Bridget smiles and they kiss.

A short time later....

Alex and Bridget are kissing passionately as they begin to undress each other in the little cabin on Southfork half

an hour later.  As Bridget sits on his lap, Alex looks up at her, unable to believe his luck in finding this girl he wants to spend the rest of his life with at such a young age.  He smiles at her, and they continue to kiss passionately as they begin to make love.......

Later....

Alex and Bridget lay in each others' arms after making love.  "Happy?"  Alex asks.

"Mmmmm........blissful.  I love lying in your arms."

"And just imagine, if you married me, we could wake up just like this every single morning for the next 60 years."

"ONLY 60?  Sweetheart, I plan for us to have at least 70 years together."

"Does that mean what I hope it means?"  Alex asks.

Bridget looks up at him.  "Yes.  My answer is yes.  Alexander Ewing, yes, I'll marry you."

Alex smiles.  "Oh my God.  You don't know how happy you just made me.  We'll tell my family tonight, and your grandmother....."

"Ummm, we'll tell YOUR family tonight.  My grandmother.......you'd better let me work on her first.  Kinda break the news to her gently."

Alex laughs.  "Okay, whatever you want,"  he says.  As he kisses Bridget again, his cell phone rings.  He sighs deeply, annoyed at the interruption.  He reaches over and picks his phone up and looks at it, then answers.  "Clay,

what's up, my boy?  Yeah, Bridget is right here with me.  Yeah, what's up?"  Alex listens for a minute as Clay speaks on the other end of the line.  "Oh yeah?  Yeah, we'd love to.  Bridget and I have something to tell you guys, anyway.  What time?  Sure, that'll be fine.  Alright, we'll see you then.  Bye."  Alex puts his phone down.  "That was Clay."

"Yeah, I guessed that much."

"He wanted to know if you and I wanna have dinner with him and Michelle this evening, and maybe Ashley and Dylan.  Hope you don't mind, but I said yes."

"I don't mind at all,"  says Bridget.  "I just thought of something."

"What?"  Alex asks.

"What if Clay and Michelle end up getting married, too?  Wouldn't that be something?  My sister marrying your first cousin."

"Yeah, and we could have a double wedding."

Bridget looks at him and smiles and they kiss again.

Kayla's apartment....

Kayla is in her kitchen cooking something when her bedroom door opens and Shawn comes out.  He squints his eyes when he walks out into the brightness of the open living room and kitchen area, as if the light hurts them.  "Morning, or I should say, afternoon,"  Kayla says.

"What time is it?"  Shawn sleepily asks.

"12:30."

"12:30?  What happened last night?"

"You don't remember?"  Kayla asks.  "You arrived here, drunk, ranting about your grandfather being alive and that the board removed you as CEO of Westar."

"Oh, yeah.  Now I remember.  When I woke up in your bed, I was hoping yesterday had just been a bad dream."

"It was no dream.  I spoke to Kenneth Hamilton this morning.  I was worried about you, and because you were so drunk last night, I wasn't sure how much of your story to believe.  But he confirmed everything you said."

"Well, I guess you're gonna kick me out now, huh?"  Shawn asks.  "Turn your back on me like everyone else."

"No, Shawn, I'm not.  Are you hungry?  I'm making some soup for lunch."

"I think if I eat anything, I'll be sick,"  Shawn says.

"Well, you have to eat something.  You probably haven't eaten since lunch yesterday."

"You're right, I haven't.  Boy, quite a mess, isn't it?  This time yesterday, I was the youngest CEO in Westar's history, I was worth close to a billion dollars. I had a nice car, a nice apartment.  The kinda life any 21-year-old would kill for.  And look at me just 24 hours later.  No job.  No friends  No family.  I'm penniless, and nowhere to go."

"What about your apartment?"  Kayla asks.  "That didn't come with your job as CEO, did it?"

"No, but since I am no longer rich, I can't afford to live there,  I can't even afford to keep the insurance on my car.  To put it bluntly.........I'm screwed."

"I'm really sorry, Shawn."

"You're not the one who's gonna be sorry,"  Shawn says.  "But the rest of them will, especially the Ewings and that bitch Samantha Chambers."

"What do the Ewings have to do with this?  And Samantha Chambers?"

"They did this to me.  The Ewings set me up and Samantha helped them.  John Ross and Alex, they........they had Samantha feed me all these bogus deals.  Deals I poured hundreds of millions of dollars into, and then they pulled the rug out from under me.  God, I was so STUPID!  But I'll make them pay.  John Ross and that bastard son of his.  And to rub salt in the wound, my ex-sister-in-law Pamela was named the new CEO of Westar.  Well she and her husband, Justin are gonna pay, too.  I swear, if it's the last thing I ever do, I'm gonna make them all pay."

"Shawn, don't do this.  Revenge will only hurt YOU, not them."

"That's where you're wrong.  Nobody does to me what they all did and gets away with it."

As Kayla is about to say something, her cell phone rings.  She walks over to the counter and picks the phone up and looks at it.  "Shawn, it's my mother. I have to take this.  I'll be right back."  Kayla walks into the bedroom to take her call.  "Hi, Mom,"  Shawn hears her say.

After Kayla goes into the bedroom, Shawn looks around.  With each passing minute, his anger and rage at what his grandfather and the Ewings had done to him increases.  The only thing on his mind is revenge, the drive for which is so strong that he barely notices the pounding headache he has as a result of his bender the night before.  "You're gonna pay, John Ross.  Alex.  All of you.  And Pamela, I'll make you wish you'd never even heard of Westar,"  As he runs his hand through his hair, Shawn suddenly remembers something.  He remembers that, one night when he was here during one of his nights with Kayla, she had told him that she keeps a gun in her desk drawer in the living room for protection.  Shawn thinks for a moment.  He quickly goes to the bedroom door and listens.  Kayla is still talking to her mother.  Without hesitation, he hurries into the living room and opens the top drawer of the desk, but finds nothing but a bunch of papers.  He opens three more drawers before finally opening one of the bottom drawers and finding the revolver.  Underneath some papers is a box of bullets.  Very quickly, Shawn takes the gun, stuffs it into his pocket as well as the bullets.  He then makes a hasty retreat from the apartment.

About 15 seconds after Shawn leaves, Kayla comes in from the bedroom, having finished her conversation with her mother.  "I'm sorry about that,"  she says.  "My brother has been sick, and my Mom calls me every day with updates."  She looks around and finds the apartment seemingly empty.  "Shawn?  Shawn, are you in the other bathroom?"  She goes to the guest bedroom, and finds it and the bathroom empty.  Returning to the living room, she again looks around and sighs.  "Shawn, where did you go?"  She asks.  Then she notices that the bottom drawer of her desk is open.....the drawer where she keeps her revolver when she's home.  Kayla rushes to the desk and look into the drawer.  Her worst fear is confirmed......the gun is gone, and Shawn had to have taken it.  "Oh my God.  Shawn, no.  What are you planning to do?"  Kayla is deeply worried, and conflicted.  Should she call the police?  She wonders, but she realizes if she does, she could be getting Shawn into a lot of trouble.  But she knows she has to do something because, in his present state of mind, Shawn is liable to do anything.  She immediately picks up her cell phone and begins scrolling through her calls until she finds the number she needs.  Locating the number, she dials it, then waits impatiently for an answer.  After four rings, the person answers.  "Kenneth, it's Kayla again.  Shawn is gone.  I mean he's GONE.  He left.  Kenneth, he was ranting and raving about getting revenge on the Ewings and making them pay for what they did to him.  But the worst thing is........he stole my gun.  Yes, my gun.  I had a revolver in my desk for protection, and now it's gone.  I'm scared to death about what he might do.  No, I'm not gonna call the police. Last thing I wanna do is get him into trouble with the police.  But the Ewings should be made aware that he might be after them."

Justin and Pamela's apartment....later....

Pamela puts Randall's shirt on him as she is getting he and Hunter ready to go out that afternoon.  "There now,"  she tells her younger son.  "Don't you look handsome."

"Yes,"  the little boy looks at his mother and replies.

Pamela laughs at the child's answer as Justin and Hunter come into the bedroom.  "Pamela, are you sure you don't wanna come with us for ice cream?"  Justin asks.

"No, I have a long week of meetings ahead of me at Westar, so I'd like to spend the afternoon resting."

"I think that's a good idea. Darlin' I want you to promise me somethin'."

"Sure, anything."

"I don't want you takin' on too much with this Westar job.  There's plenty of folks to help you, includin' me."

"Are you gonna give up Ewing Records and come to work at Westar with me?"  Pamela asks.

"No, but I will help any way I can.  Whatever I can do to take part of the work load off of you, and if that means bein' your co-CEO, then I will."

"Thank you for the offer,"  Pamela says as Hunter walks up and grabs Justin by the hand.  Pamela looks down at her son.  "I think someone is ready for some ice cream."

"Yeah, and so is Daddy,"  Justin says.  "Okay, buddy, come on."  He picks Randall up in one arm and takes Hunter by the hand.  "We'll be back in an hour and a half, tops."

"Okay, I'm just gonna lie down until you guys get back."

Justin kisses her, then he and the boys leave.

Pamela goes into the kitchen, where she goes to the refrigerator and takes out a bottle of water, then she makes her way back through the living room, down the hallway, and returns to the bedroom.  Opening the bottle of water, she takes a sip, then gets in bed.  She takes another sip of her water, then settles back in bed, closing her eyes, hoping for a nice nap before Justin and the boys return.  But her slumber is interrupted by the ringing of the doorbell.  She sighs deeply in frustration.  "Now who could that be?"  She wonders.  She considers ignoring whoever it is in hopes that they will go away.  The doorbell rings a second time.  Finally, Pamela gets out of bed and puts on her bathrobe, thinking her company could be her mother.  A few seconds later, she walks into the foyer.  She opens the door, and instead of Afton, Pamela is shocked to find Shawn standing before her.  Her mouth falls open in shock, a look of fear on her face,  "What the hell are you doing here?"  She asks.

"That's no way to greet your ex-brother-in-law......and ex-lover."

"Get out of here, Shawn.  You're the last person on the face of this Earth I wanna see."  Pamela starts to slam the door in his face, but Shawn grabs the door and forces it open.

"Oh, but no,"  he says.  "You're not getting rid of me that easily, sweetheart."  Shawn forces his way into the apartment and closes the door.

Pamela's heart begins to pound with fear as she backs away from him, realizing that Shawn has lost everything an he could now be very dangerous.  "Look, I don't know what the HELL you want, but you'd better get out of here right now.  My husband will be back any minute, and....."

"What?"  Shawn asks.  "You mean Justin The Great isn't home?  Damn, what a shame.  And I came here to see him just as much as you."

"Why?  Why would you wanna see Justin?"  A frightened Pamela asks, continuing to back away from him.

"So I could give him a present,"  Shawn replies.  He reaches into his pocket and pulls out Kayla's hand gun.

Pamela gasps in terror when she sees the gun.  "Oh my God.  You get out of here before I call the police."

Shawn smiles.  "Now that's funny."

Afraid for her life, Pamela runs to pick up the phone on the table beside the sofa, but Shawn rushes over and stops her, grabbing the phone, throwing it to the floor, and smashing it.  He then grabs Pamela by the hair.

"Don't ever try that again,"  he says.

"Shawn, look, if you just get out of here now, I won't tell anyone about this.  I won't even tell Justin.  But if you do anything to hurt me, you know Justin's temper.  He'll kill you."

"I don't think so, Pamela.  And even if he does, so what?  Thanks to you and your husband, and John Ross and Alex, I have nothing left to lose.  You've taken everything away from me, including my job.  Now, the only thing left to do is to make you pay."

"Shawn, what are you gonna do?"  Pamela asks, more terrified with each passing second.

"I'm gonna do to you, what you did to me........take away something from you, Pamela.  And I hope your husband comes home soon, because I'd love nothing better than to repaint this apartment with his brains."

"NOOOO!!!!"  Pamela screams as Shawn grabs her.  He forces her into a kiss.  She struggles with all her might, but Shawn is just too strong for her.  He grabs her, and forcibly carries her kicking and screaming into the bedroom, where he throws her onto the bed.  Pamela tries to crawl away but Shawn grabs her and pulls her back to him.  "NOOOO!!!!!  STOP IT!!!!"  She yells.  She grabs the clock radio from the table beside the bed and throws it at Shawn, but he ducks.  Shawn then begins slapping Pamela hard across the face.  When she stops fighting, he grabs both her hands and holds them with one of his hands as he uses the other to rip her clothes off.  "STOP IT, PLEASE!!!"  She begs.

"Just shut up!"  Shawn says.  "You enjoyed this before.......and you will again."

Pamela begins to cry and struggle again as Shawn kisses her, and begins to rape her!

The Krebbs Ranch....

Conner comes into the living room at the Krebbs home that afternoon and finds Dylan on the phone.  "Yeah, well, I really don't wanna go to this, and I wouldn't if I hadn't promised my brother Todd.  But, I did tell him I'd be there for his birthday dinner and that I'd spend the night with him tonight.  It's been a long time since Todd and I have spent any time together, so I am looking forward to that. Yeah.  I promise, I'll make it up to you.  Okay.  I love you, too.  And I'll call you later tonight.  Bye."  Dylan ends the call and puts his phone into his pocket.  He smiles, then turns around to see Conner standing behins him.  "Hey."

"Hey.  That was Ashley?"  Conner asks.

"Yeah, it was.  And, I have some good news for you, big brother."

"Ummm, what news?"  Conner nervously asks.

"You're gonna have the house to yourself tonight.  You know, tomorrow is Todd's 36th birthday, and Jay is giving him  a little birthday dinner, with just the family, and they want me to come.  Todd also wants me to spend the night with him tonight and hang out........I guess finally act like brothers.   So, I told him I would."

"Well, that....that's great.  You and Todd should spend more time together.  He IS your other brother, and you never even see him."

"Well, it's not like he makes much of an effort to see me, either, especially since I changed my last name from Baxter to Ewing.  My main issue with going is that.......my Mom is gonna be there tonight."

"Really?  I thought she was still in Europe,"  Conner says.

"She's just visiting.  I'm not sure how I'm gonna handle seeing her.  I haven't seen her in, what?  Three years, at least?  She didn't even come see me or call me when I was going through all that stuff two years ago."

"Maybe she's changed.  This could be a chance for you and her to kinda patch things up."

"Conner, I'm not sure that  I wanna patch anything up with that side of my family.  Aside from Jay, none of them have even acted like they gave a damn about me.  You, Ray and Donna are my family.  The only family I need.  You guys, and Ashley.  I don't even know why I promised Jay and Todd I'd come."

"Well, you can't back out now,"  Conner says.

"Yeah, I guess you're right.  Well, I guess I'll throw some things in an overnight bag, take a shower, and head out early.  I need to stop by the mall and see if I can find a gift for Todd's birthday.  Hey, as long as you have the house to yourself tonight, why not invite Jasmine over?  Who knows?  Maybe this could be the best night of your life."  Dylan smiles, pats Conner on the shoulder, then leaves the room.

"Best night of my life?  Yeah, right,"  Conner says after his brother leaves the room.

Justin and Pamela's apartment....

Justin opens the door to his and Pamela's apartment after returning with Hunter and Randall from getting the boys some ice cream.  "Okay, guys, let's be kinda quiet, because your Mommy is prob'ly still asleep.  Hunter, can you be a big boy and take your little brother to your bedroom for me?"

The little boy nods, then takes Randall by the hand and leads him down the hall.  Justin watches his two little stepson with a proud smile.  He looks at his watch and decides to go see if Pamela is still asleep.  Justin goes to their bedroom at the end of the hallway, and walks in, but there is no sign of Pamela.  However, the bed covers are all messed up, and partly on the floor, and there are other things strewn about the bedroom.  Then, he hears crying coming from the adjoining bathroom.  Justin rushes to the bathroom door and finds Pamela sitting on the floor by the sink in a fetal position, blood all over the floor beside her.

"Oh, dear God!"  he says.  "PAMELA!"  He runs to his wife, and as he touches her, she violently pulls away.

"NO!"  She yells.

"Pamela, it's okay.....it's okay, it's me.  It's Justin."

"Justin,"  she cries.

"Oh my God, what happened to you?  Pamela, what HAPPENED?  Has somebody been here?  Did somebody do this to you?"

Unable to answer his question, Pamela begins to cry uncontrollably.  Terrified for his wife, Justin takes his cell phone from his pocket and dials 911.

"Darlin', it's gonna be okay, I promise.  I'm gettin' you some help,"  he tells her.  Just then the 911 dispatcher comes on the line.  "Yes, I need an ambulance at 3449 Lemmon Avenue, apartment 1411.  It's my wife.  I don't know, she's pregnant, and she's been bleedin'.  Please, hurry!"  Justin tosses the phone onto the floor and touches Pamela's face.  "Pamela, it's gonna be okay.  Help is on the way."  Again, Justin picks up his phone, then stands to his feet.

He frantically dials Afton's number and waits for her to answer.  On the second ring, she picks up.  "Afton, it's  Justin.  I need you to get over here right now!  Something's happened to Pamela!  I don't know what happened. She's bleedin' and, Afton, I think she was attacked.  I've already called an ambulance.  Please hurry!"  Justin puts his phone into his pocket and rushes back to his wife.  "Pamela, what happened?  Darlin', did somebody do this to you?"

"Yes,"  Pamela cries.

"Who?  Darlin', who did this to you?"

Pamela is unable to answer as she continues to cry.

"Pamela, damn it, WHO!  WHO DID THIS TO YOU?"

"Shawn,"  she finally replies.  "It was Shawn."

Justin's mouth falls open in shock.  "Smith?  Shawn SMITH did this to you??"

Pamela nods as she continues to cry.

Justin puts his arms around Pamela and cradles her.  As he holds his hysterical wife in his arms, Justin feels the anger and rage building up inside of him toward Shawn.......a rage he never thought he could feel toward anyone.

Meanwhile....Museum Tower....

A frantic Shawn unlocks the door to his apartment and opens it.  Rushing into the apartment, he runs into the bedroom, where he takes a small suitcase from the closet.  He quickly begins throwing some clothes and necessities into the suitcase.  He closes the suitcase and zips it.  He takes a seat on the bed, then runs his hand through his hair, the realization of what he had done, of the crime he had just committed, beginning to sink in.  "I have to get out of here,"  he says to himself.  "I have to get out of here.  Out of this town."  Standing to his feet, he looks around his bedroom one last time, aware that he will probably never see this room or this apartment again.  As he looks around, anger and rage begins to rise up inside of him at the people he blames for his downfall.......the Ewings, and his grandfather.  "You asked for this, Pamela.  You deserved it,"  he says, looking at his reflection in the mirror across the room.  "And I swear if it's the last thing I do, I'll make them all pay.  I WILL!"  Unable to control his anger, Shawn picks up a lamp beside the bed and hurls it into the mirror, shattering the glass into hundreds of pieces.  He picks up his suitcase, and hurries out of the room and out of the apartment, fully aware that not only the police, but Pamela's husband, would likely be after him very soon.

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital....later....

Bobby, Ann, John Ross, Krystina, Sue Ellen, and Catlin walk into the emergency department at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital a short while later.  The group approaches the nurse's desk. "Excuse me,"  Bobby says.

"May I help you?"  Asks the nurse on duty.

"Mrs Pamela Ewing was brought in here a little while ago."

"Yes.  Her husband and mother are in the waiting room down the hall."

"Thank you,"  Ann says.  They walk down the hall a ways until they come to the waiting room, where they find Justin pacing and Afton sitting on a sofa.

"Justin,"  Bobby says.

"Uncle Bobby, thanks for comin'."

"How is Pamela?"  Sue Ellen asks.

"We haven't heard anything yet,"  Afton replies, standing and walking over to the others.

"What the hell happened?"  John Ross asks.

"Is it the baby?"  Krystina asks.

"No,"  Justin replies.  "She was attacked."

"Attacked?"  John Ross asks.

"That's right.  I took the boys for some ice cream.  Pamela was gonna go with us at first, but she wanted to rest up because she had a long week ahead of her when she starts her new job at Westar.  So she decided to stay home and take a nap.  When we got home, I found her on the bathroom floor."

"Justin, you said she was attacked?"  John Ross asks.

"Yes."

"Do you know who did it?"

Justin looks at his brother with an expression of anger and hurt.  "Oh, yeah, I know exactly who did it."

"Who, Justin?"  John Ross asks.

"Shawn Smith did it.  He raped her.  That little pig RAPED my wife!"

"Oh dear God,"  says Sue Ellen.

"He.......he raped her?"  Ann asks in tears.

"Yes, that's right.  And when I find that son of a bitch, I'm gonna kill him with my bare hands."

"You called the police, right?"  Catlin asks.

"Yes, we did,"  Afton says.

Brad rushes into the waiting room.  "Afton, Justin,"  he says.  "What the hell happened to Pamela?"

"You wanna know what happened to her?"  John Ross asks.  "I'll tell you what happened.  Your sick little friend, Shawn Smith, attacked and raped Pamela."

"What?  John Ross, what the hell are you talking about?"

"It's true, Brad,"  says Afton.  "Justin came home with the boys and found her."

"He raped her?"

"Yes, that's right,"  John Ross says.

"My God.  How bad is she hurt?  Will she be alright?  What about the baby?"

"Brad, we don't know anything yet,"  Krystina says.

Justin walks to the window and looks out.  Sue Ellen goes over to him.  "Justin, can I get you anything?  Some coffee?"

"No, Sue Ellen, thank you."

Pamela's doctor comes into the room.  "Excuse me,"  she says.  "Mr. Ewing?"

"Yes,"  Justin says, walking over to her.  "How is Pamela?"

"Pamela will be fine,"  the doctor replies.  "She has a couple of minor bruises, and she lost a good deal of blood, but we managed to stop the bleeding."

"And what about the baby?"  Justin asks.

The doctor pauses for a moment.  "I'm sorry, Mr. Ewing.  Pamela lost the baby."

Afton immediately breaks down in tears.  Ann puts her arms around her to comfort her.

"Our baby........she lost our baby?"  Justin asks, his voice shaky.

"Yes, I'm very sorry.  But fortunately, we don't see any permanent damage.  I see no reason why you and Pamela won't be able to conceive again."

John Ross puts his hand on his brother's shoulder.  "I hope the cops don't find Smith,"  Justin says.  "Because I wanna find him.  I wanna find that son of a bitch myself."

The Krebbs home....evening....

Conner is pacing restlessly around the living room of the Krebbs home that night, feeling not only restless, but lonely, as Ray and Donna are in Austin visiting Matt and Margaret, and Dylan is at his other half-brother Todd's birthday dinner.  Conner walks into the living room, takes a seat on the sofa, and picks up the remote for the TV.  He switches on the TV and begins flipping through the channels.  He lets out a deep sigh.  "Okay, so, what'll be it tonight?  Sports?  Nah.  Comedy?  Drama?  Western?  Maybe a sentimental old classic?"  Flipping through many channels, Conner finds nothing he is interested in watching.  He turns off the TV and stands to his feet.  After a momentary pause, he walks out of the living room and into the foyer, and into the kitchen.  He looks around the empty house.  Just then, his cell phone rings.  He picks the phone up and looks at it.  It's Jasmine calling.  Conner

reluctantly answers the phone.  "Hello,"  he says.

"Hey, Conner, it's me,"  Jasmine says.

"Hi, Jasmine."

"I was thinking, why don't you ask Dylan if he and Ashley wanna hang out tonight?"

"Dylan's not here,"  Conner says.  "He went to his other brother Todd's place tonight.  It's Todd's birthday."

"So, since Ray and Donna are in Austin, and Dylan is gone, that means you have that whole house to yourself, huh?  Well, why don't I just come over and we can have some time alone for a change?"

"Jasmine, I really, ummm, tonight's not a good time.  I'm really not feeling well, so I'm just gonna turn in early."

"Well, maybe I could make you feel better."

"No, Jasmine.  Like I said, I really wanna just curl up in bed.  I'm sorry, but, I'll talk to you tomorrow."

Cass Winthrop's apartment....

Fine!"  Says an annoyed Jasmine.  "Tomorrow.  Good BYE!"  She ends the call and tosses her phone onto her bed, an angry look on her face.  "Curl up in bed, huh?"  She says.  "I'll just BET you are."

The Krebbs home....

After Jasmine hangs up on him, Conner puts his phone into his pocket and walks to the window and looks out at the darkness.  He lets out another deep sigh.  After a minute, he goes back into the foyer and walks out of the house.  Pausing on the front porch, Conner leans against one of the porch's columns.  He looks up at the stars in the night sky.  Finally, he walks off the porch and into the front yard, where he takes a seat in a swing.  "Well, I have three choices.  I can change clothes, drive into Braddock and have a beer, I can go on to bed at 8:30, or, I can sit here and listen to the sound of the crickets," he says.

Meanwhile....

Shawn is driving his Porche on the Central Expressway heading out of Dallas.  He is nervously trying to get out of town as fast as he can.  He has the radio on, listening to the classic rock song Hungry Like The Wolf, by Duran Duran.  The song is interrupted in the middle when a news announcement comes on:  "This is a special news bulletin from KDAL in Dallas.  People are advising citizens to be on the lookout for a fugitive, 20-year-old Shawn Allen Smith, the former Chief Executive Officer of Westar Oil in Dallas, is being sought for an assault on a woman that occurred earlier today in Dallas.  Smith is 20-years-old, has brown hair, blue eyes, stands approximately 5 foot 8 inches, and weighs around 160 lbs. with a muscular build.  Anyone with information on Smith's whereabouts should contact the Dallas police department at 214-671-8083.  Road blocks have been set up on all major highways leading out of Dallas, and a city wide manhunt is now under way for Smith.  He is believed to be driving a 2018 Porche 911, with Texas licence plate SAS 123.  Police advise that no one approach Smith if you spot him.  Smith is armed, and considered extremely dangerous.  Repeat, DO NOT APPROACH Smith, but immediately call police.  We now return you to our regular programming."

"Damn,"  Shawn says as he switches off the radio.  "DAMN IT!!  What am I gonna do?  What the HELL am I gonna do?"  He immediately takes the first exit off the Expressway that he sees, and heads back toward Dallas.  "Well,"  he says to himself.  "With cops setting up roadblocks, my only two choices are to take a back road out of town, or try to find some place to hide out in Dallas.  Or..........I do have a third choice.  Since I won't rest until I get my revenge on John Ross and Alex, my third choice is to force John Ross to help me.  And I'll do that by getting to that son of his.  I'm sure Alex's life would be worth a pretty penny to him in ransom."  Shawn continues driving back toward downtown Dallas.

The Krebbs Ranch....

Conner is still sitting on the swing in the yard at the Krebbs home when a car drives up and comes to a stop in front of the house.  Ashley gets out of the car, and, seeing Conner sitting on the swing, she walks over to him.  "i,"  she says.

"Hi.  Dylan isn't here,"  says Conner.  "Didn't he tell you that......"

"That he's at Todd's tonight, for Todd's birthday?  Yeah, he told me."

"Then what are you doing here?"

Ashley takes a seat on the swing beside Dylan.  "I came to see you.  I thought we could talk, and from the looks of it, you could use some company."

"Well, you're right about that,"  Conner says.  "Truthfully, I really have been bored out of my mind tonight, but I just didn't feel like going anywhere.  Sound crazy?"

"No, not at all.  To be honest, I was bored, too.  That's why I came out here.  With Dylan at Todd's, and Clay and Michelle went out to dinner with Alex and Bridget, I was rattling around in that big apartment of Clay's all by myself.  I just needed someone to talk to."

"Well, I guess you've come to the right place,"  says Conner.  "Jasmine called me just a little while ago.  She wanted to come out here so we could spend some time together alone."

"Oh?"

"Yeah.  I told her that I was gonna turn in early, so, not to come."

"Well, if you're tired and wanna go to bed early, I'll leave,"  Ashley says.

"No,"  Conner quickly says.  "I don't want you to go.  I wasn't really gonna go to bed.  I just didn't want Jasmine to come out here."

"Why not?"  Ashley asks.

"Jasmine seems to only have one thing on her mind when we're together, and that is sex.  I told her I wanted to take things slow, but she's...........I dunno, she's driven by hormones."

"That's a switch,"  says Ashley.  "Usually it's the guy in a relationship who's driven by hormones.  It's good to see there are still some old fashioned guys left."

"Being old fashioned has nothing to do with it.  I just didn't wanna be with her.  Not in that way.''

"Conner, I don't understand.  Jasmine is gorgeous.  Most guys would give their eye teeth to be with a girl like her.  Are you just not attracted to her?"

"It's not that, it........"  Conner pauses.

"Then what is it?"  Ashley asks.  "Conner, I don't mean to pry, but, I really do care about you.  I'd like to help if I can.  So, if you wanna talk, I'm a good listener.  Jasmine had this idea that you might be......."

Conner looks at her.  "That I might be what?"

"That you might be gay, and that's why you weren't really interested in her."

"Jasmine thought I was gay?"  Conner asks.  "Is that what YOU think?"

"I don't know, Conner."

"Well, I'm not gay.  Ashley, I haven't had any successful relationships before.  My Dad and I were always moving around so much, whenever I dated someone, we didn't stay long enough for the relationship to develop, so, I just figured, why even bother. Then after I settled here, with Ray and Donna, I met Selena Collier, and, well, that was the best, and longest relationship I'd ever had.  But, just my luck.  That time, it wasn't me who had to move away, but she did.  And I can't tell you how much that hurt.  Then when Dylan started dating you, I have to admit, I was jealous.  My little brother had someone, and I didn't.  But,  I didn't wanna get hurt again.  So, I had pretty much given up on ever finding love.  I settled for one night stands every now and then with girls I met at bars in Braddock or Dallas.  And I just kinda kept that part of my life quiet.  And then came a girl that I really fell for.  Absolutely gorgeous.  Long, dark hair.  The kinda girl any guy would kill to be with.  Ashley, do you wanna know why I pushed Jasmine away when we started to get intimate?"

"Because you were afraid of getting hurt, like you did with Selena?"  Ashley asks.

"No," Conner replies.  "It's because every time we started to get intimate, I couldn't........I couldn't get things started, if you know what I mean.  I just couldn't."

"Oh, wow.  Ummm, Conner, I don't think we should be talking about this.  This is something you should be talking to Dylan about."

"Ashley, I can't talk to Dylan about this, or anyone else.  You wanted to know why I couldn't have sex with Jasmine, well now you know."

"Maybe you should see a doctor."

"No, I don't need a doctor.  I've never had this problem before, and, it only seemed to be with Jasmine.  And the other night, I finally knew why I only had that problem with her."

"Conner, I don't understand.  What are you saying?"

Conner looks at her.  "The other night, when you and I kissed........Ashley, I felt something.  I felt something that I should've felt when I was with Jasmine, and I couldn't because, it's not that I wasn't physically attracted to her, because I was.  But the truth is, I'm in love with someone else.  Ashley, God help me, but, I'm in love with you. I have been for a long time.  And when we kissed, I was aroused.  I'm sorry, but I had to be honest with you.  So if you wanna tell Dylan, I understand.  Maybe the best thing for me to do is to just leave.  Just leave town."

"No,"  Ashley says, fighting back tears.  "Conner, I don't want you to leave.  Because, I feel the same about you.  I've tried to hide it.  That was why I pushed you and Jasmine together so hard.  I thought that if you had a girlfriend then, everything would be okay.  I guess I even lied to myself about how I felt, but that kiss made me realize that I do love you.  And I want you."

Conner stands to his feet.  "Ashley......"

She stands to face him, in tears.  "Conner, I can't help it.  God, I shouldn't have come out here tonight because, I want you so bad right now."

Conner looks at her for a few seconds, then grabs Ashley and pulls her into a passionate kiss.  After a moment, they pull out of the kiss.  "Let's go in,"  he says quietly, almost in a whisper.

Ashley nods.  Conner takes her by the hand, and the two walk to the house.  They go onto the front porch and pause in front of the door.  They kiss again, and then go into the house, closing the door behind them.

A couple of minutes later, Jasmine's car drives up to the Krebbs home.  She comes to a stop in the driveway when she sees Ashley's car parked in front of the house.  Jasmine shakes her head, an angry look on her face.  "Well, Ray and Donna are in Austin visiting their daughter.  Dylan is out with his other brother, and Conner had this great big house all to himself tonight.  But he didn't want me to come over.  Now I know why.  How stupid am I?  This has probably been going on for months behind mine and Dylan's backs.  Well, you're gonna pay for this, Ashley.  You and Conner......you're BOTH gonna pay!"  Jasmine quickly turns around in the driveway and speeds away from the house.

Upstairs in Conner's bedroom, he and Ashley have moved to the bed, where they are kissing and in the process of making love.

Meanwhile....a pond at Southfork....

Shawn drives his Porsche out to one of Southfork's numerous ponds, a place where he had spent a lot of time when he stayed at the ranch when he and Alex were friends.  Getting out of the car, he grabs his small bag with some clothes and supplies, and the gun and bullets he had stolen from Kayla's apartment.  Tossing these items onto the ground, he reaches into the car, puts it into 'Drive', and then pushes the car toward the water on the deepest end of the pond.  Shawn gives the expensive sports car an extra hard shove, sending it into the cold, dark waters of the

pond.  Shawn watches sadly as his $140,000 Porsche sinks to the bottom.  "You'll pay for that, too, John Ross.  And you, Alex.  You're gonna suffer for every wrong you've ever done to me.  I've got nothin' left to lose, unlike you."  Picking up his bag and the gun, Shawn begins walking toward some trees to find a safe place to hide out on until he can make his move to take Alex as his hostage and force John Ross to pay him in exchange for the life of his son.....

Wow! I questioned if Jeremy Windell was actually dead. When his will was read, I started to think it happened. Shawn got careless and his ego got him. How far will Shawn get with his plan to get even with the Ewings?
John Ross making the surprise announcement that Pamela was pregnant. What a scumbag. Just waiting when the secret ColbyCo deal will hit the fan.
Once again, great writing, John! Looking forward to the next chapter!

Hate that Pam lost her baby. But love Shawn was put in his place. Hope nothing happens to Alex. Excellent episode. Knew Lucia was conniving.

Yeah, I suspected, Wendell was still alive! Shawn is such a bastard! I hope he gets everything that's coming to him and John Ross will take him down. Alex has to watch out though. Poor Pamela, Justin and Afton: Pamela didn't deserve what happened to her, she'll need her family more than ever now. I hope Brad at least realizes what kind of bastard he's been conspiring with. Still, I hope Pamela will remain CEO at Westar, she's a good business woman and I have always felt it makes her character more interesting. Thanks for an amazing episode, John!

wow shawn is a damn psychopath who probably makes tripp look like mr. rodgers in comparsion. I don't think shawn is getting out of the next episode alive. I was a bit confused though about people calling pamela westar's first female ceo, because jill was ceo on 2 prior occasions. Wendell still being alive is stunning. Definitely can't wait for the next episode

Awesome story line. Love the drama. Shawn is going to go down big with what he did to Pamela. Great writing with the set up of Shawn. Connor and Ashley affair is going to hurt Dylan and his relationship with his brother. Thank you so much for entertaining us this boring depressing summer.

Oh yeah Parker, Shawn is being exposed as a twisted pyscho alright but man didn’t I tell you that it was all of Shawn’s enemies hitting him from all sides at once. And that rape isn’t going to help him because now he’s done attempted murder, rape, and a possible kidnapping. Those are all felonies. His future now is jail or death. Poor Sharon! She has already lost 2 sons in Hunter and Tripp McKay. Now she is about to lose her third child along with her husband. She has lost everybody.

    Derek Mathews (Tuesday, 07 July 2020 10:20)

John Ross is awesome Will. You want to know whose fault that is for that surprise pregnancy announcement? That’s Pamela’s fault because she should have told Justin that she was pregnant, and that their bang has the dreaded Barnes disease. Why? Because she is always evasive with Justin. She ought to thank John Ross for telling her because at the rate she was going, she wasn’t. But I bet that Justin will thank John Ross so in a way Justin wasn’t mad at him. What ColbyCo deal? That deal hasn’t even been talked about in so long. Jeremy Wendell faking his own death was something I didn’t see coming. Shawn did in fact get very careless and his ego got out of control. Shawn won’t get even with the Ewings at all. His fate is jail or death. That’s his two options right now.

  • #15

    Derek Mathews (Tuesday, 07 July 2020 10:51)

I was shocked as well about Jeremy Wendell faking his own death. But Shawn didn’t be humbled big-time and boy did he get it. Like I said, it was a classic case of his enemies hitting him from all sides. I love how Wendell made Pamela CEO of Westar because she is tough, smart, and ruthless, but she can be compassionate when she wants to be. I definitely think out of all three of Cliff Barnes children, she is the sharpest one without a doubt. Emma and Brad come off like idiots. And yes Wendell knows he she is married to Justin. Wendell saying he still wants to bring the Ewings down is just his personality. He hates them. Always has and the Ewings hate Wendell. I think Bobby and John Ross and others can take down Wendell but John Ross cant do it himself. And yes it would be nice to see if the Westar-Ewing Oil rivalry end.

    Derek Mathews (Tuesday, 07 July 2020 10:58)

Yes, Lucia is very conniving Kathy. I hate that cause of what Shawn did to Pamela, raping her, caused her to really Shawn her baby. That was downright heartbreaking, and I don’t blame Justin one bit for wanting to kill Shawn for everything he has done to Pamela and his family. I don’t blame him at all. Lucia Trevino is trouble with a capital T! She is trying to seduce him and the only person who doesn’t see it is Christopher himself.

    Derek Mathews (Tuesday, 07 July 2020 11:23)

Verena, Shawn is definitely a scum bag! Well John Ross already best him once, he will do it again by sending Shawn to prison. That’s where he belongs. Prison or death is his fate now. He definitely has deserved everything that he has done. Definitely, Poor Alex, Pamela, Justin, snd Afton: All of them were in some way affected at the end of the day. I hope that Brad finally wakes up and realizes what kind of person he is conspiring against. Be there for your sister and stop being part of the feud. I like Pamela as CEO too because she is tough, smart, and ruthless but she is compassionate too. I think she will be an amazing business woman.

  • #18

    Derek Mathews (Tuesday, 07 July 2020 11:38)

Trevor Campbell, Shawn is a pyschopath! He makes Tripp McKay and John Ross look like saints. And he is definitely Tripp McKays brothe. If McKay was still alive, those two would have been a nightmare for the Ewings and Ewing Oil. Shawn is going to end up dead very soon, maybe next episode. His future is jail or death. Kidnapping Alex is stupid and desperate, raping Pamela was the worst and most despicable thing you could have done, and he was lucky not to be arrested for attempted murder. Jail or death is in his future. And you are right, Pamela is not Westar first ceo because Jill was CEO of Westar on 2 seperate occasions. But I think Pamela is way more experienced then Jill is.

    Derek Mathews (Tuesday, 07 July 2020 11:46)

Shawn definitely had one of the hardest falls I’ve ever seen Cindy. Shawn has already deserved everything that he has gotten at this point. That setup of Shawn was absouletely brillant! I agree, the Connor and Ashley affair is absolutely going to destroy Dylan and their relationships with both of them. He shouldn’t have feelings like that for his brothers girlfriend. That’s crossing a very dangerous line. And Dylan has been very good to her.. I hope that he doesn’t start drinking. Because he’s going to get blindsided because I could see Jasmine ratting out both of them to Dylan.

  • #20

    Derek Mathews (Tuesday, 07 July 2020 11:53)

I agree Tracy! Pamela getting raped again is not cool. She doesn’t deserve that, and he absolutely better hope the cops better find him before John Ross and Justin do. They are going to end up torturing him just like John Ross did Miguel Trevino, and I would love to see that.

    Derek Mathews (Tuesday, 07 July 2020 11:57)

I wonder how Dylan is going to feel seeing Todd, and Jay after three years. Not to mention his mother who just flat out abandoned him when he needed her most. It’s funny, Connors mother abandoned him as well. It’s going to be a very awkward birthday for Todd, Jay, and Dylan’s estranged mother.

    Derek Mathews (Tuesday, 07 July 2020 12:01)

Jasmine to me is dangerous, and the fact that she is now stalking Connor and Ashley just makes me believe that this is going to end very badly. I can’t wait till Jasmine confronts both of them and that is going to be really intense.

Waiting to see who will be unfaithful first: Christopher or Courtney. Whatever to Ray's illegitimate son? And what Emma, Ann's daughter? When will she get out of prison?

  • #26

    Trevor Campbell (Saturday, 11 July 2020 08:39)

@david emma recieved a 3 year prison sentence last year, she's still got just a little over 2 years left

  • #27

    Parker Bena (Sunday, 12 July 2020 10:45)

Truth be told? I don't care if Emma EVER gets out of prison. She is FINALLY where she belongs. She had a promising equestrian career despite Judith's constant meddling, but she pissed it all away to become a slut.

  • #28

    Derek Mathews (Tuesday, 14 July 2020 09:58)

@David Rodriquez, I really hope it doesn't come to that at the end of the day. Neither Courtney or Christopher are cheaters, that's not in their character. I don't know what happened to Heath, Ray's illegimate son. Maybe with all this stuff going on, John didn't have a storyline for him. Emma is still in jail I guess but she needs to make some better decesions in her life, and learn how to be more truthful. I don't know when she will get out of prison though. She got off kind of easy though.

  • #29

    Derek Mathews (Tuesday, 14 July 2020 10:03)

Parker Bena, I'm not a big Emma fan either alright? But the fact remains is that everybody in this family has done something scandulous, and over the top, and something they have regretted. There are no perfect people in this family. Emma doesn't belong in prison, but she definitely needs to learn how to be way more honest than she does. Ann does too. Learn from these lessons you have experienced over the last three years or so. What is an equestrian career? Judith was a constant meddler but Emma doesn't have to worry about that now.
